A boot without that rating can be the most comfortable boot in the world and still not protect a foot when something heavy drops.

This nearly caught me in 2023. A warehouse crew member wanted the athletic-style boots because they felt great from day one. They weren't rated for the hazard, and our safety audit flagged them. Nobody got hurt that time, but it was a reminder that comfort can quietly override compliance. Now footwear orders get checked the same way gloves do: against the hazard, not the brand.
